Case study Mining
Ghana Manganese Company
A corporate website for the company that describes itself as the only manganese producer and exporter in Ghana, structured so investors, suppliers, job seekers, communities and the media each find their part.

Project overview
Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) operates out of Nsuta in the Western Region of Ghana and describes itself as the only manganese producer and exporter in Ghana. Its website presents the company, its operations and its record to a wide audience.
Challenge
Investors, suppliers, job seekers, host communities and journalists all come to the same website with different questions, and there is a lot to say: company story and governance, mine operations and shipping, health and safety, sustainability, news and tenders.
Approach
Structure
A main menu with seven sections: Who We Are, Operations, Sustainability, Media Center, People & Career, Suppliers and Contact Us, so each audience finds its section by name.
Design
Section pages open on full-width photography from the company’s own operations and community work, with the page title over the image and the current section highlighted in the menu.
Suppliers
The Suppliers page explains the company’s support for local and indigenous suppliers, sets out how to become a registered supplier, and keeps a list of invitations for tender.
Media and reporting
A media centre for news, newsletters, the gallery and videos, and a sustainability page with the company’s published figures and awards.
What the site does
Each audience has a direct route: suppliers to tenders, job seekers to careers, journalists to news, and investors to operations and sustainability.
